LOOK: Sen.Hontiveros Bumitaw ng Maanghang na Salita kay President Duterte

Akbayan Senator and considered as one of the critics of Pres. Rody Duterte, Sen. Risa Hontiveros thanked all the students of St. Scholastica's College-Manila for rallying against the Duterte admin which the senator accused of sponsoring killing criminals.

Sen. Hontiveros released an official statement expressing her gratefulness to the "courage" showed by the young students of the Roman Catholic school for women to go outside their school and hold placards condemning the Duterte government.

According to Sen. Hontiveros, the lawmaker who made headlines earlier for her nonsense definition of rebellion and invasion during an interview with UNTV, claimed that the rally held on July 18 was the response of the young members of the government opposition against Pres. Duterte's upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

The Liberal Party allied lawmaker also claimed on her latest social media statement that it's already 8,000-12,000 people have been killed by the government although the PNP itself denied the claim and reported that 2,000 were confirmed killed during anti-drug operations.

Sen. Hontiveros was quoted as saying "That 8,000-12,000 people have been killed by the government’s bloody war on drugs, that this senseless campaign continues despite all the evidence, that murderers are rewarded with reinstatement to their government posts and even promotions; all the senseless death and tragedy is proof that our government does not listen. It does not listen to the poor." Hontiveros said.

The senator added further that "It kills the young and the poor. It does not respect the truth and democracy, it clouds them with fake news and disinformation. This is something we will not stand for," she added.

Sen. Hontiveros also noted that he told her followers on social media that they are going to take back the democracy that the government stole from them.

Hontiveros was quoted as saying "We will take back the democracy they are stealing from us. And we know this darkness will pass because you, the young have the light," Sen. Hontiveros stated.
