WATCH: Ang pagbabago ng buhay ni Lyca Gairanod matapos manalo sa The Voice Kids!Ano na nga ba nangyayari sa kanya?

Filipinos are naturally attracted to music. Our culture has been musically inclined for a very long time, starting from our ancestors. It’s no wonder that modern Pinoys always have a blast when there’s msic playing while they do their activities. Karaoke sessions during birthday parties, listening to songs during the daily commute, and even watching singing competitions around lunctime.

We’ve seen it all; a blind singers, groups of women singing in acapella, and even child singers. Speaking of child singers, though, there is one popular singing competition which airs on one of our local channels.
We’re talking about The Voice Kids. This show is the kiddie version of what started out as The Voice Philippines. The Voice Kids was created to give a chance to the youth of our society, who, some argue, are more talented than their older counterparts.
Not surprisingly, the children who auditioned and made it to the show had breathtaking voices. One child in particular stood out the most and that is the season 1 winner of The Voice Kids, Lyca Gairanod.
Lyca was a child born to poverty. Her father was a fisherman while her mother collected discarded plastic bottles and old newspapers. To help out her family, Lyca thought of using her golden voice. She sang and performed for neighbors for cash.
Luckily, she decided to audition for The Voice Kids where she was declared the winner. Now, Lyca is not only successful in her career as a singer but she is also starting out as a young actress. She even starred in her own story in Maalaala Mo Kaya.
