United Nation Sec General Binasura ang EU Resolution VS Drug Wars

The European Parliament’s joint resolution that called for support from European Union (EU) nations to conduct a probe at the United Nations [UN] Human Rights Council was junked by the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

“[UN] Human Rights Body has done an investigation on the extrajudicial killings in the Philippines. I want to announce it here that the war against drugs in the Philippines under President Rodrigo Duterte is for the good of the people, of the Philippines and it is indeed promoting patriotism and good governance,” said Guterres.

Guterres even added that the EU should not interfere with the judicial system in the Philippines.

Despite the EU’s claims of extrajudicial killings linked to the drug war of Duterte, Guterres asserted that the UN Human Rights Body has already done a survey in the Philippines and it showed that the drug war has been alleviating the state of affairs in the country and promotes and protects the rights of the Filipinos.

As a retort to the EU’s joint resolution, Gutteres proclaimed “let Duterte do his work peacefully.”

The EU has long been surrounded with controversy over issues of illegal land-grabbing, trading, slavery, and human rights abuse.
